The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Colonel Colvill Camp 56 invites you to a Civil War Headstone Dedication Ceremony at the serene Oakland Cemetery. The script for the ceremony is the same used when the Grand Army of the Republic laid their comrades to rest a hundred years ago.

This ceremony is open to veterans, those with an interest in Civil War history, and the public. Wearing Civil War era attire is encouraged. Those who attend will have the opportunity to see soldiers in Union uniforms, ladies in period attire and one widow in her "Widow's Weeds" and a weeping veil. The members of Camp #56 consider dedication ceremony an honor and a fitting tribute for a Union soldier whose service helped preserve the liberties Americans enoy as a nation today.
